SUMMARY:Breakfast Briefing
DESCRIPTION:2020 Health Insurance Rates\n\n \n\nThe 2020 Health Insurance Open Enrollment season officially began on November 1 and continues through January 15\, 2020. Now is the time for individuals and families to make changes to their health plans for the 2020 calendar year. This year's open enrollment season has brought major changes for our valley.\n\n \n\nThe biggest news is that Kaiser's decision to pull out of Eagle and Summit Counties. Their local clinics officially close on December 27\, leaving thousands of subscribers without coverage. For most individuals and families in Eagle County\, Anthem Blue Cross is the only individual carrier available.\n\n \n\nHowever\, there is some very good news to share for Eagle County residents. The State Innovation Waiver Reinsurance Program was passed by the Colorado Legislature in 2019 and signed into law by Governor Polis on May 17\, 2019. What does that mean for residents of Eagle County? With the passing of this bill\, Anthem was able to lower their individual rates in our county by approximately 28 percent\; that will translate to big savings next year!\n\n \nPeter Martin\, owner/President\, Martin Insurance Group\, said\, "While rates for employer-based plans remain relatively stable\, you should still consult with an agent to see if you have the best plan for your employees. There are some unique savings opportunities for companies in Eagle County that are involved in the construction industry\, as well as engineering firms. These industries may be able to qualify for discounted large group rates through national associations plans." \n\n \n\nMartin further said\, "With all these changes and opportunities\, we highly recommend that you review your health plans options for 2020 during Open Enrollment season."\n\n\n\nThe Speaker Series starts with Breakfast Briefings on the first Tuesday of the month\, from 7:45 - 9:15 am\; breakfast will be served\, and our speaker will educate (and entertain) us.
