6th Annual WASSAILFEST!

What is Wassail (sounds like 'wassle')?

In Old English, the word meant 'be you healthy'; it came to be known as hot mulled cider, traditionally drunk during wassailing, a medieval ritual intended to ensure a good cider apple harvest the following year.

 What do you do during Eagle Wassailfest?

Drink Wassail of course – to the ‘health’ of Eagle! From December 5-7, local Eagle businesses will serve up their own secret version of Wassail.

From December 9 -11 participating Eagle businesses will serve up their own secret Wassail recipes. Wassailers are encouraged to taste at least 12 different Wassails and then vote for their favorite variety. All cards turned in that have been validated by at least 12 participating businesses will be included in a drawing for a set of Apple AirPods donated by Comerford/State Farm Agency.

Turn in your card at Circle-A Auto Repair from 9 am - 5 pm Wednesday through Friday or at the WassailFest table during the 2nd Friday ARTwalk on Broadway from 6 - 8 pm to vote for your FAVORITE wassail and Eagle’s 2020 Wassail-Meister! 

The business that receives the most participant votes is crowned Eagle’s WassailMeister and is awarded the WassailMeister Traveling Trophy.

Wassailers who turn in their card will receive a gift certificate to a local Eagle business— WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!
