Summer has brought an unusually high number of Red Flag Warning days across our region, with hot, dry, and windy conditions creating an elevated wildfire risk. As a result, we activated our Fire Safety Settings more often than usual. These settings make our power lines more sensitive to potential hazards, helping reduce the risk of a wildfire starting.

We know this can also mean more frequent and longer-lasting outages, since our crews must visually inspect power lines and equipment before power can be safely restored. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews work to get the lights back on as quickly and safely as possible.

Fire Safety Settings are just one part of our year-round approach to reducing wildfire risk. We also invest in ongoing vegetation management, advanced equipment inspections, system upgrades, and other proactive measures.
