Wassailfest
What happens at Wassailfest?
Drink wassail, of course - to the 'health' of the community!
Wassailers are invited to sample unique recipes of wassail at participating businesses during their business hours of operation. Wassailers then vote for their favorite. In the spirit of giving, if you would like to donate a gift certificate to be handed out to wassailers who have sampled and voted for at least 12 different participating businesses, please contact Patty Hood from Hood Insurance Agency at hoodinsurance@allinsgrp.com or Taun Sanders from Circle-A Auto Repair at circlea@live.com. Voter cards can be obtained from participating businesses. Donated gift certificates will be given out to wassailers while supplies last on the last day of Wassailfest, Saturday, December 7th at 6:30 pm at Second Street Tavern. All Wassailers who have submitted their voter cards will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a Caliente Portable Charcoal Grill Cooler, compliments of Comerford Insurance Agency!

What is Wassail (sounds like 'wassle')?
In Old English, the word meant 'be you healthy'; it came to be known as hot mulled cider. Traditionally, sipped during wassailing, a medieval ritual intended to ensure a good cider apple harvest the following year.
Knapp Harvest was crowned 2023 and 2022 WassailMeister as more wassailers voted in favor of their secrete recipe. Knapp Harvest was awarded the coveted Wassailfest Trophy, which is held for one year. The furry wassail squirrel, handed over to Knapp Harvest from 2021 WassailMeister ROAM. Adrienne Cavallario of ROAM EAGLE, named the wassail squirrel 'Andy', to honor the memory of beloved Andy Jessen of Bonfire Brewing. Bonfire Brewing was named 2020's WassailMeister.
